Narthex Hosts

As a community of self-educators, we call the adults who coach the learning process and assess the portfolios of completed work, “hosts.” These adults nurture the hospitality of the Narthex community, ensuring that all are welcome and that the pursuit of understanding is sincere and vibrant.

Our humanities host will facilitate the afternoon seminar until the learners are able to themselves lead a Socratic dialogue.

Our culinary arts host will work alongside the learners to plan and prepare nourishing lunches for our community.

Our STEM host will guide students to the right curriculum that will challenge their abilities and enable them to acquire the skills and understanding to solve real problems. On a weekly basis the STEM host will host math-focused seminars and provide feedback on the learners’ weekly work.

At this point, most of these positions are part-time, but please reach out if you love learning, desire to follow Jesus Christ, and excel in a communal environment.
