“Docendo discimus.” By teaching we learn.
No bells.
No grades.
No uniforms.
This is authentic education. You, the learner, will be exercising your will in scheduling your time, prioritizing your academic, spiritual, and health goals, and developing the way in which you present yourself and your ideas.
As you shine the unique and unrepeatable light God has given you, you will also be illuminated by the light of those around you.
Learner = Teacher
The learners of Narthex collaborate in solving math problems, designing science labs, discovering meaningful college and career experiences, and engaging in Socratic dialogue over rich literature during our afternoon “Micah Seminars.”
They bake bread and prepare meals for one another. They cheer for each other. They pray with and for one another. They attend different churches but support one another in their faith commitments. They gather weekly in advisory groups to discuss what kind of path they believe God is calling them towards and how they are developing the skills and habits to follow that call.
This is self-education
rooted in Christian community.
